Mayoral Candidate Drops from Aug. 27th Election

Mayoral Candidate Randy Roden, and City Councilman for Ward 4, has officially dropped from the mayoral election taking place on Tuesday, Aug. 27th.

At a City Council meeting in July, Roden announced that he had prostate cancer. According to a Facebook post, Roden says that he has other health issues that he cannot ignore that will force him to drop from the race. He will continue his position as the ward 4 councilman

Roden also says that he is endorsing Kevin Beaty as the pick for Mayor. Again, the election will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 27th between Kevin Beaty, Justin Few, and Jimmy Plummer.

If you are participating in early voting this week, Roden’s name will still appear on the ballot, but not for in person voting next week.
