McAlester Woman Arrested for Fentanyl Trafficking

A Pittsburg County Woman was seen in court this week on the charges of drug trafficking, driving under the influence, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to carry insurance and more. Tina Gerisch was arrested on Saturday after she was initially pulled over for an erratic right turn out of a red light.

According to an affidavit, Gerisch provided a California drivers license to officers to whom she later admitted to living in McAlester for over a year at the time of arrest. Officers would eventually run a search of her vehicle and discovered what the officer believed to be fentanyl wrapped in tin foil.

Gerisch admitted that it was, and she had taken some of it earlier in the day to help with medical issues she allegedly suffers from. Inhaling straws were also recovered from inside the vehicle. Testing on the substance would come back to confirm it was fentanyl, in the amount of 4.2 grams.

She was given a $20,000 bond and her next court date is set for Aug. 29th at 9 a.m.
