In his inaugural State of the City Address, Mayor Justin Few highlighted McAlester’s accomplishments, emphasizing economic growth, infrastructure improvements, and community involvement.

New businesses like McAlister’s Deli, Pink Pop, and Freddy’s have opened, with more expected, including an Amazon facility, QuikTrip, and Allsup’s. Infrastructure projects, such as the waterline replacement and improvements at Steven Taylor Industrial Park, are helping drive development.

The early completion of the TIF District for the Shops at McAlester and plans for another TIF district demonstrate the city’s focus on growth.

Few also highlighted public safety investments, including better resources for first responders, and ongoing efforts to enhance parks and recreational programs. Collaboration with Pittsburg County and the Choctaw Nation supports McAlester’s growth.

Looking ahead, Few emphasized the importance of community involvement to shape the city’s future.
