The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma will host a tagging station in McAlester this evening for tribal members who harvested an otter or bobcat this furbearer season.
Officials with the tribe’s Department of Wildlife Conservation said that even if a hunter doesn’t have something to be tagged, staff members will be available to score deer and answer questions about wildlife management, the new deer herd enhancement program, regulations, and anything else related to wildlife.
The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the McAlester Community Center located at 3274 Afullota Hina.
Other events are scheduled to be held at the tribe’s community centers in Atoka on March 6 and in Antlers on March 7 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Those who are unable to attend an in-person event and have a river otter or a bobcat that needs to be tagged can email wildlife@choctawnation.com for assistance.
