A McAlester Head Coach has been charged in McCurtain county for an event that allegedly took place in July. McAlester Head Football Coach Forrest Mazey has been charged with misdemeanors of pointing a weapon at another, and reckless conduct with a firearm.
According to an affidavit, multiple MHS football coaches were visiting a cabin in Hochatown during a retreat when Mazey entered the pool house containing a hot tub that some of the coaches were already in. Mazey is alleged of bringing a handgun inside and pointing it at the chest of an assistant coach.
The affidavit states that the victim in this case was taken aback by the situation, and slowly got out of the hot tub and moved out of the line of the pointed firearm. Reports say the witness also said that Mazey appeared to be laughing at the victims reaction to the situation.
Mazey is next alleged in the affidavit of walking outside of the pool house and firing a single shot into the ground. Another coach that was at the cabin said he was not in the room when Mazey pointed the firearm at the victim, but said that he heard the gun shot fired into the ground
Mazey was suspended by MPS earlier this month while the investigation is being conducted. A warrant was officially issued for Mazey this Friday, Nov. 22nd.
