Former McAlester Head Football Coach Forrest Mazey has accepted a plea deal after being charged with pointing a firearm at another person and reckless conduct with a firearm following a July 2024 incident.

Court documents show Mazey entered an Alford plea, which allows a defendant to plead guilty while maintaining their innocence, and the defendant agrees that there is enough evidence to likely result in a conviction if the case went to trial but does not admit to the crime itself. As part of the agreement, Mazey received a 90-day deferred supervised sentence with several conditions.

During the deferral period, Mazey is prohibited from leaving the state without prior written permission from a judge or district attorney, must maintain lawful employment, and is barred from consuming alcohol or drugs, or being in any establishment where alcohol is primarily sold or consumed.

Mazey is also prohibited from possessing or carrying a firearm. He was ordered to pay $844.25 in court costs and fines. His probationary period ends on March 26th.
