ROCK 105.1 ON-AIR TALENT

Mark Stevens

Monday-Friday

6am-10am

I guess you could say one of the good things about being in radio for years is that I’ve lived all over the country. From coast to coast. That means I still have great friends in those places. So, I enjoy visiting as many as I can as often as I can. Seeing how those places have changed over the years. One of those places is Las Vegas, and boy how it’s changed. Gone are the 49 cent breakfasts and $1.99 steak dinners. But, it’s still Vegas and a fun place to see. Thanks for listening as I play your favorites and continue doing the job I’ve loved for so many years.

DOWNTOWN NATE BROWN MIDDAYS 10 AM-2 PM

His hobbies include sports, photography, and storm-chasing. Nate is also the “Swiss Army Knife” of McAlester Radio’s sports broadcasting team. His favorite colors are Crimson and Cream as well as black and gold!

FUN FACTS:

  • I’m pretty sure I was a leprechaun in another life, or is it this life?
  • When I was 5, I was sure I’d be a meteorologist when I grew up.
  • If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve giving people the day off for absolutely no reason.

I have been blessed with quite an extraordinary journey in radio and for me, it’s always been about the music. My inner musicologist emerged in the mid-sixties. You see several times a week after school, I would hang out at The Eight Ball, that’s the pool hall my dad owned in Denver. I’d hear the latest hits the patrons punched up on the jukebox and the tunes took hold. I was hooked on this “rock” stuff. In the 7th grade I decided that I wanted to be a Disc Jockey. Jump ahead just a few years and in the Summer of 1980, it happened. I got a gig on a small AM station in my hometown of Denver… WOW! What a long, memorable trip it was to spend the next 36 years on the air in my hometown. When I’m not “inside your radio” I’m hanging with my girl Kathy. We’ve been together since 1978. We have a son, a daughter, two granddaughters, and a grandson! For the record let me say… life is good! I’ve got to tell you, it’s way cool to still be “in the air” and rockin’ after all these years. Whenever you can, tune in for the music we love, and the companion stories to go along with it. It’ll be my pleasure to spend some time with you!
