Motorists traveling on North West Avenue between West Electric Avenue and West Carl Albert Parkway can expect detours beginning today, March 31, through Friday, April 4, 2025, due to ongoing work on the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Project 14.
Truck traffic will be redirected east to North A Street, then to West Electric Avenue. Southbound trucks traveling from West Electric Avenue onto West Street will be detoured along Jackson Avenue.
Access from Carl Albert Parkway and West Electric Avenue may be restricted to residents only at times, and some side street intersections could be temporarily closed.
Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes and exercise caution in the area.
Residents along North West Avenue will experience reduced water pressure as crews begin installing tie-ins. Installation will first occur for residents, followed by tie-ins to existing main lines. This process could take up to two weeks.
