A McAlester man was arrested recently on the charges of domestic assault and battery against a pregnant woman, domestic assault and battery by strangulation, violating a protective order and disrupt or preventing an emergency phone call.
According to an affidavit, a woman was found outside a home on West Delaware Street Sunday, claiming she had been assaulted by Dylan Johnson. As the officers approached the residence, the victim ran out of the house, toward him, shouting for help. She was reportedly visibly distraught.
The victim allegedly told police that Johnson had picked her up from a domestic violence shelter, taken her phone, and assaulted her upon arriving at the house. She described being strangled and thrown to the ground.
Officers observed visible injuries, including a scratch on her eyebrow and an abrasion on her side. A check through Central Dispatch revealed an active protective order against Johnson, issued on Oct. 2, 2023. Charges have been filed through the Pittsburg County District Attorney’s Office.
Johnson was given a $25,000 bond.
