McAlester Band and Guard Booster Club receives $10,000 grant

The McAlester Band and Guard Booster Club was recently awarded a $10,000 Casey’s Cash for Classrooms Grant for a new equipment trailer.
The organization was selected as a 2025 recipient of Casey’s Cash for Classrooms grant, receiving $10,000 to purchase a much-needed equipment trailer. This new addition enhances the Pride of McAlester Marching Band’s ability to transport necessary items and gear to competitions and events, directly benefiting its 130 student members.
“We are incredibly grateful to receive this generous Cash for Classrooms grant from Casey’s,” said Rachel Bailey, President of the McAlester Band and Guard Booster Club in a press release announcing the award. “This new trailer will greatly improve our students’ experience by ensuring they have the necessary resources to compete and perform at their best. Casey’s continues to be a valued community partner, and their investment in education is making a tangible difference in the lives of our students.”
Through the Casey’s Cash for Classrooms program, schools across the country receive funding to enhance educational opportunities, improve facilities, and create better learning environments.
“Casey’s is committed to supporting schools and communities through our Cash for Classrooms grants,” said Katie Petru, Director of PR and Communications at Casey’s in the release. “We are proud to help schools like McAlester High School create meaningful opportunities for students, ensuring they have the resources needed to learn, grow, and succeed.”
The new equipment trailer is expected to be fully operational by fall of 2025, in time for the upcoming marching season.
This investment will not only streamline logistics for competitions and performances but will also create a more enriching and stress-free experience for students, band staff, and parent volunteers.
