Mayor Justin Few joined KNED Thursday morning to provide an update on city parks and ongoing developments in the community.

One of the first topics Few addressed was the addition of splash pads in local parks, noting how much easier and safer  it is for residents to use the new amenities.

Few also highlighted the work done by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, acknowledging the “unseen” efforts that go into keeping McAlester in top shape.

Additionally, Few discussed the new QuikTrip on Electric Avenue, which opened March 27. He emphasized that the store has been a huge success and has contributed to the city’s growth. He also noted that the new location provides a designated truck stop for semi-trucks, offering another resource for the community.
