Two McAlester residents are facing multiple felony charges after authorities say deputies discovered methamphetamine, fentanyl and other suspected narcotics during a traffic stop earlier this month.

Jeffrey Brent Reese and Alethea Renee Allen are both charged in Pittsburg County District Court with trafficking in illegal drugs involving methamphetamine and fentanyl.

According to investigators, deputies stopped a pickup truck May 19 near West Cherokee Avenue for excessive window tint and an inoperable tag light.

Investigators reported Reese, who was driving the vehicle, appeared nervous during the stop. A McAlester Police Department K-9 later alerted on the truck, prompting a search of the vehicle.

According to the affidavit, deputies found multiple glass smoking devices, digital scales and several baggies containing suspected narcotics inside the truck.

According to investigators, substances recovered during the investigation included approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of fentanyl and one oxycodone pill.

Reese and Allen were both transported to the Pittsburg County Jail. Allen allegedly was later found in possession of a small plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine concealed inside her wallet.

Court records show Allen later posted a $50,000 bond while Reese posted a $200,000 bond. Both are due back for court on May 28.
