City Water Project Expected to Last At Least Five Weeks

The City of McAlester is beginning a maintenance project on the Carl Albert Tower this week.
Crews started draining the tower today (March 3, 2025) and the project is expected to last approximately five weeks. This is not expected to affect water pressure, but it could impact customers from MacArthur Avenue to U.S. Highway 69, and potentially Rural Water District 5.
A bladder system is in place to help maintain water pressure, and we do not anticipate significant disruptions. However, residents and businesses in the affected areas may experience fluctuations in water pressure at times.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this important infrastructure project.
