ODWC Fishing Report for April 23, 2025

Here is the latest fishing report for Southeast Oklahoma lakes and rivers from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. Each lake report is curated by a local game warden, biologist, or fishery technician.

Arbuckle: Apr 20. Elevation is 4.5 ft. above normal and stable, water temperature 56°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth and smallmouth bass slow on Alabama rig, crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits, plastic baits around brush structure, channels, shallows. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait around creek channels, points. White bass and crappie slow on jigs, live bait, minnows, tube jigs around shallows. Blue River PFHA: Apr 22. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 70°F and murky. (USGS Lake Level) Rainbow trout Fair on caddis flies, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs, PowerBait, worms around brush structure, channels, river channel, rocks. Largemouth bass and smallmouth bass, Spotted Fair on bill baits, crankbaits, jerk baits, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits, topwater lures, tube jigs around brush structure, channels, creek channels, river channel, rocks, shallows, shorelines, weed beds. Broken Bow Lake: Apr 19. Elevation is 4 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 59°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass fair on Alabama rig, bill baits, crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, creek channels, main lake, points, shallows, shorelines, standing timber. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows around brush structure, points, river channel, shallows, shorelines, standing timber. Eufaula: Apr 18. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 62°F and murky. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth bass and smallmouth bass, Spotted Good on Alabama rig, crankbaits, jerk baits, lipless baits, plastic baits around coves, flats, main lake, weed beds. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish Fair on live bait, live shad, shad around below the dam, channels, river channel, river mouth. Crappie Good on hair jigs, spoons around brush structure, docks, standing timber. Report submitted by Jake Rowland, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

 

Hugo Lake: Apr 18. Elevation is 3 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 67°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around coves, main lake, rocks. Crappie fair on jigs, minnows around brush structure, channels, main lake, standing timber. Report submitted by Eric Barnes, game warden stationed in Pushmataha County.

 

Konawa: Apr 20. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 60°F and clear. Largemouth bass good on crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits around main lake, points, river channel, weed beds. Striped hybrid bass, white bass fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, live shad around discharge, inlet, main lake, river channel. Channel catfish slow on chicken liver, cut bait, shrimp around discharge, inlet, riprap, rocks, weed beds. Report submitted by Garret Harley, game warden stationed in Seminole County.

 

Lower Mountain Fork River Trout Area: Apr 18. Elevation is 2 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 57°F and clear. Rainbow trout good on crickets, nymphs, plastic baits, PowerBait, small lures around below the dam, creek channels, spillway. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

 

McGee Creek: Apr 18. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal and rising, water temperature 67°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth and spotted bass excellent on bill baits, buzz baits, crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits, jerk baits, jigs, minnows, plastic baits, topwater lures around brush structure, points, shallows, shorelines, standing timber, other. Channel and flathead catfish excellent on chicken liver, cut bait, live bait, live shad, shrimp, worms around channels, flats, main lake, riprap. Crappie fair on minnows, small lures, tube jigs, other around brush structure, shallows, shorelines, standing timber. Report submitted by Shay Loudermilk, game warden stationed in Atoka County.

 

Lake Murray: Apr 22. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 60°F and stained. Largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, green, and red-ear sunfish fair on crickets, grasshoppers, jigs, small lures, spinnerbaits, spoons around dam, docks, main lake, sandbar, shallows, shorelines, weed beds. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish fair on chicken liver, crawfish, goldfish, grasshoppers, live bait, stinkbait around channels, dam, main lake. Report submitted by Game Warden R. Gillham, game warden stationed in Love County.

 

Pine Creek Lake: Apr 18. Elevation is 12 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 69°F and murky. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, plastic baits around shallows. Crappie fair on jigs around shallows. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, PowerBait around creek channels. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

 

Robert S. Kerr: Apr 20. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 58°F and murky. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth and spotted bass good on bill baits, crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, rogues, spinnerbaits, topwater lures, tube jigs around brush structure, creek channels, points, riprap, shallows, shorelines, weed beds. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish good on cut bait, dough bait, live bait, live shad, shad, stinkbait, sunfish around below the dam, channels, creek channels, flats, inlet, main lake, river channel, river mouth, tailwater. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs, minnows, plastic baits around creek channels, tailwater, weed beds. Report submitted by Allen Couch, game warden stationed in Haskell County.

 

Sardis Lake: Apr 18. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 68°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth bass good on bill baits, crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, coves, points, shorelines, standing timber. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish good on cut bait, shad, stinkbait, sunfish, worms around below the dam, brush structure, main lake, points. Crappie good on jigs, minnows, tube jigs around brush structure. Report submitted by Thomas Gillham, game warden stationed in Pushmataha County.

 

Texoma: Apr 20. Elevation is 2 ft. above normal and rising, water temperature 63°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Striped bass fair on live shad around flats, main lake, points. Catfish, Blue, channel, flathead catfish fair on cut bait, dough bait, live shad around docks, points, river mouth. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs, minnows, nymphs around brush structure, coves, points, standing timber. Comments: Fishing this week has been good. Striper are getting better each day. Catfish are good on live bait near river mouth and the channels. Crappie are biting near brush on minnows. Report submitted by Garrett Beam, game warden stationed in Marshall County.

 

Wister Lake: Apr 18. Elevation is 10 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 72°F and murky. (USACE Current Lake Level) Largemouth bass good on plastic baits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, creek channels. Blue catfish good on cut bait, shad around channels, main lake. Crappie good on jigs, minnows around brush structure, creek channels, main lake. Report submitted by James Williams, game warden stationed in Le Flore County.
