McAlester Woman Arrested On Felony Drug and Contraband Charges

A McAlester woman is facing felony charges after authorities say she was found with methamphetamine and later brought contraband into the Pittsburg County Jail.

Jessica Mae Shed, 31, was arrested March 21 in the area of South Fifth Street and East Delaware Avenue after officers were attempting to locate two individuals connected to a reported incident in the area, according to an affidavit.

Police say officers made contact with Shed and another individual matching the description. During the encounter, Shed allegedly dropped bags she was carrying, and officers later located a backpack nearby containing drug paraphernalia and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Investigators say the substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Authorities also reported that additional suspected methamphetamine was discovered after Shed was booked into the county jail.

She is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and bringing contraband into a jail or penal institution.

Court records show Shed now has multiple pending cases in Pittsburg County, including drug-related charges, grand larceny and a prior fentanyl possession case. Records indicate she had been placed into drug court in 2025 but later failed to appear, resulting in bench warrants being issued and additional court proceedings.

Records further show those cases were tied to a drug court agreement that included potential prison sentences if not successfully completed. Court filings indicate she failed to comply with program requirements, leading to warrants and continued prosecution in those cases.

Shed is currently being held on a cumulative bond of $37,500.
