Kiowa Man Charged With Kidnapping and Domestic Assault

A Kiowa man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he assaulted and held a woman against her will during an incident earlier this week.

Denty Christman, 49, has been charged in Pittsburg County District Court with kidnapping, domestic assault and battery, and threatening to perform an act of violence.

According to an affidavit, police met with a woman on Tuesday, March 31, who had visible swelling and bruising to her face, along with other injuries consistent with a recent assault.

Investigators say the victim reported that Christman struck her multiple times in the face with a closed fist, possibly dozens of times, during an argument at a residence in Kiowa.

Authorities say the victim told officers she attempted to leave, but Christman allegedly grabbed her and forced her into a vehicle against her will. She reported he continued to strike her, pulled her hair and pushed her down while inside the vehicle.

The affidavit states Christman then drove to multiple locations, and the victim said she attempted to escape more than once but was forced back into the vehicle.

Investigators say Christman also allegedly threatened to kill the victim if she contacted law enforcement. It is also alleged that Christman struck the victim again after returning to the residence in the vehicle, before the victim got out of the vehicle and was able to escape.

Christman is currently being held on a $100,000 bond
