McAlester Man Charged With Aggravated Assault And Battery

A McAlester man is facing multiple charges after authorities say a domestic dispute inside a home led to an alleged physical altercation.

Isaac Michaiah Oxley, 30, has been charged in Pittsburg County District Court with aggravated assault and battery, obstructing an officer and resisting an officer.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers were dispatched April 11 to a home on West Miami Avenue in McAlester in reference to an assault and battery in progress.

Investigators reported that when officers arrived, Oxley was already in custody.

According to the affidavit, the victim told officers she had been inside her home with Oxley and a third party when an argument began over money.

Authorities say Oxley became upset and allegedly struck the victim in the face.

The affidavit states the victim attempted to close a door, but Oxley reopened it and continued the confrontation. Investigators reported the victim pushed the suspect away, and during the incident, the victim fell and suffered an injury to her arm.

According to the affidavit, Oxley then left the residence. It was also reported that children were present in the home at the time of the incident.

Oxley was transported to the Pittsburg County Jail and his bond was set at $15,000. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.
