Savanna Man Faces Felony Charge in Stolen Guns, Equipment Investigation

A Savanna man is facing multiple charges across three separate cases following an investigation into stolen property involving a second suspect.

Blakely Joe Zachary, 35, was taken into custody Tuesday, April 21.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the felony case stems from an investigation into stolen property taken from a residence on North Fairview Road in Krebs. Investigators reported multiple witnesses identified Zachary and Jason Farris as being in possession of items taken during the burglary.

One witness told deputies the pair arrived at his home with firearms matching the description of those reported stolen and said Zachary claimed the items had been taken from a residence.

Another individual told investigators Zachary attempted to sell stolen firearms and other equipment, while a third reported purchasing a welder and trailer later confirmed to be stolen property.

Authorities say Farris was identified as the driver of a pickup involved in the case, with Zachary as a passenger, and that the stolen welder and trailer were transported in the vehicle.

Authorities also reported Zachary was identified in a photo lineup during the investigation. Farris has not been located, and has a warrant out for his arrest according to an affidavit.

Court records show Zachary is charged in Pittsburg County District Court with receiving, possessing or concealing stolen property and possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.

He also faces additional misdemeanor charges, including possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and transporting an open container of liquor.

Zachary is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving damaged property. He is currently being held on a $35,600 cumulative bond.
