Beginning Tuesday, May 5, traffic on Dr. Willa A. Strong Boulevard between Polk Avenue and Van Buren Avenue will be reduced to one lane during regular business hours.
This temporary lane closure is to accommodate construction of a new helipad, including truck traffic and equipment entering and exiting the work zone.
What to expect:
- The outside southbound lane will be closed during the day
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work area
- Two-way traffic will resume in the evening and overnight hours
- Increased construction traffic—please use caution and watch for workers and equipment
The roadway will be restored to two lanes outside of business hours to ensure access for emergency vehicles.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, stay alert, and consider alternate routes if possible.
