
The McAlester Police Department has issued a press release for an incident that took place on May 30th on U.S. HWY 69.
PRESS RELEASE: “Officers with the McAlester Police Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and S. Hardy Springs Road on May 30, 2026, at approximately 11:24 a.m. Officers were advised it possibly involved injuries.
According to initial reports, a 2019 Cadillac four-door car was traveling southbound on South Hardy Springs Road. The Cadillac was struck in the intersection by a 2014 Dodge Ram truck pulling a trailer that was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 69.
One passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Other passengers and drivers of the vehicles were transported by EMS for medical treatment.
The McAlester Police Department was assisted by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office.
The names of the involved parties are being withheld at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
