McAlester Mayor John Browne’s term officially came to an end this week as new Mayor-elect Justin Few has officially taken office. Few won the race back in August when Few won the election with 781 votes (51.01%), over challengers Kevin Beaty, who received 635 votes (41.48%), Randy Roden 79 votes (5.16%), and Jimmy Plummer 36 votes (2.35%), according to results from the Oklahoma Election Board.

For Few, he plans to hit the ground running at his position. He joined KNED’s own Megan Waters for an interview this week, and here is what he said is in his early plans as Mayor.

The lack of housing for some individuals was also a part of discussion that Waters and Few had during the interview, and he shared his thoughts on how to combat the issue.
