The City of McAlester is excited to host the annual Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12th. To ensure safety, they ask that you avoid parking on Choctaw Avenue and Fifth Street. Vehicles must be moved by 5 p.m., as no cars will be allowed to leave after the parade starts. Only emergency vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit during the event.
The parade will follow its usual route: east on Carl Albert Parkway, south on Fifth Street, and west on Choctaw Avenue. Please plan ahead and use parking lots outside restricted zones.
“We want everyone to celebrate the holiday season with us, but ensuring the safety of everyone who comes out to enjoy the Christmas Parade is our top priority,” City Manager Dave Andren said. “Taking these precautions allow us to provide clear pathways for parade floats, emergency vehicles, and attendees lining the streets to enjoy the event.”
