MPL Hosting Farewell Party in Lieu of Renovation

The McAlester Public Library is gearing up for the temporary closing coming in the New Year as they prepare for renovation. In honor of the renovation, the MPL will be hosting a special “Farewell, For Now” (come and go) party on Friday, Jan. 3rd from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In a post on Facebook, the library says “This is a time to celebrate the cherished memories made here and look ahead to the bright future that awaits! Let’s come together to honor our library’s rich history and share in the anticipation of the incredible changes to come!”

The library will close for renovations officially on Jan. 4th, and they will be operating at a temporary location at Edmond Doyle Elementary School, 520 E Smith Ave. The plan is for the MPL to reopen at the end of January, on the 27th.
