A Cleveland County man was executed Thursday morning, Dec. 19th, for the 2006 kidnapping and killing of 10-year-old Jamie Rose Bolin. Kevin Ray Underwood was executed by lethal injection on what was his 45th birthday. Underwood’s time of death was declared at 10:14 a.m.
According to media witnesses, Underwood gave a tearful two-minute statement for his final words, stating regret and remorse. Lori Pate, member of the Bolin family, gave a short succinct statement regarding Underwood and the execution.
District 21 Attorney Greg Mashburn, who represented the victim’s family, had this to say following the execution.
Underwood’s final meal consisted of chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, pinto beans, a hot roll and a cheeseburger and fries with ketchup, which he received Wednesday evening, Dec. 18th.
Underwood marks the fourth and final execution in the state of Oklahoma for 2024 and is the 25th in the nation.
