The City of McAlester is offering free Christmas tree pickup for residents through January 31, 2025.
The city’s Parks and Recreation Department will collect live Christmas trees at no charge. Residents can schedule a pickup by calling the J.I. Stipe Center at 918-421-4922.
Once collected, the trees will primarily be used as fish habitats in local lakes and for other environmentally friendly purposes.
Artificial trees will not be accepted. However, Keep McAlester Beautiful holds cleanup events each spring and fall where residents can dispose of various unwanted items.
