The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning for parts of Arkansas and Oklahoma.
The watch, which includes Crawford, Franklin, and Sebastian counties in Arkansas, as well as Sequoyah, Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, Pittsburg, and Pushmataha counties in Oklahoma, could bring heavy snow and periods of sleet. Total snow accumulation is expected to range from 3 to 6 inches.
Travel conditions may become hazardous, particularly during the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. The National Weather Service advises residents to monitor local forecasts for updates.
