The Choctaw Nation will host a free beginner Beekeeper and Pollination Class on Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Choctaw Nation Community Center. The class will cover the history of bees, basic bee biology, and essential topics for novice and experienced beekeepers.
Participants will learn what to expect when starting a beekeeping journey, how to care for hives throughout the year, the pesticides that may affect bees, and the importance of pollinator-friendly plants.
