Final January City Council Meeting set for Tuesday


The McAlester City Council will meet this Tuesday, Jan. 28, to discuss several important items, including infrastructure projects, economic development, and financial matters.

The council will consider accepting a $731,825 bid for the DWSRF Project #8A, Stonewall Railroad Crossing, and authorize a $15,000 change order for the DWSRF Project #12, Water System Improvements on South Main, both with Lone Hickory Cattle Company LLC.

Other key items include updates on the “Main Street Matters” campaign and a sidewalk café permit application for Pink Pop at 30 E Choctaw Ave.  The council will also consider approving the city’s annual financial audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, and discuss possible amendments to the fiscal year 2024-2025 budget.

Additional items include a new ground lease for the McAlester Library and reports from the City Manager and other city authorities.

The meeting is open to the public and will take place at McAlester City Hall at 6:00 p.m.
