The McAlester Public Library’s (MPL) temporary location is now fully open and operational at 520 E. Smith, which is also the old Edmond Doyle elementary building, while the old library on 2nd St. is set to be demolished later this month for the start of renovation. The library has been closed since January 4th, and they have been in the process of switching over for just under a month.
MPL Manager Heath Stanfield shed some light on how long the renovations are expected to take and what you can expect from the renovation.
As for the library at the temporary location, those hours are now 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
