The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma said two construction projects underway in McAlester are progressing.
A spokesman for the tribe said the McAlester Wellness Center expansion is expected to be completed by mid-March. The $5 million project includes a full-size gym, a remodeled restroom, and an updated employee office and breakroom spaces.
The $70 million expansion for the Choctaw Nation Health Clinic in McAlester is expected to be complete by late spring/early summer and will double the size of the clinic’s square footage and provide services not currently offered.
The increase in services will require almost doubling the number of employees as well, adding 56 new employees to the clinic. Upon completion, the clinic will be able to see 65% more patients, according to the tribe.
