Amorita Man Charged with Trafficking Fentanyl

A 25-year-old Amorita man was arrested on drug charges last week in McAlester after allegedly displaying erratic behavior at an EZ Mart, leading authorities to discover fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana in his possession.

Tyler Cass was first noticed by a witness who reported seeing him acting strangely in the convenience store parking lot. According to an affidavit, police later located Cass at a nearby Casey’s General Store, where he attempted to hide his face. Officers reportedly observed his “uncontrollable” movements and profuse sweating. During questioning, Cass allegedly admitted to using drugs.

A search of his vehicle uncovered a pen with white residue and a bag of marijuana. While in custody, Cass further confessed to having fentanyl hidden in his sock. The affidavit states that field tests confirmed the substances found in his possession as 3.64 grams of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana.

Cass was taken to a local hospital for a blood test before being transported to the Pittsburg County Detention Center. Cass is being charged with trafficking fentanyl, actual physical control of a vehicle under the influence, and his bond is set at $150,000.
