The City of McAlester has completed renovations at Jeff Lee Pool, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable experience for residents of all ages.
The most recent $100,000 renovation project focused on key improvements, including replacing gutters, repairing large deck sections, filling in cracks, installing a new drain cover, and more.
“Jeff Lee Pool has been a staple of our community for nearly a century,” said Doug Basinger, the city’s Community Services Director. “These upgrades ensure we can continue offering a safe, welcoming space for families to enjoy during the summer months.”
The City remains committed to maintaining and improving its recreational Facilities, with annual investments in pool maintenance usually ranging from $100,000 to $200,000. The completion of the Jeff Lee Pool renovations is part of an ongoing effort to provide high-quality public amenities while considering budgetary considerations.
With renovations now complete, McAlester pools will open for the season on Saturday, May 24th. Jeff Lee Pool will be open daily from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 3-17, and free for children under 3.
