A McAlester man indicted in December 2024 for the theft of several items from the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, including munitions used for training, intends to plead guilty to his charges.

Garland Leon Seay, 38, was indicted in the Eastern District of Oklahoma with two counts of theft of government property and entering a military installation for a purpose prohibited by law.

Seay is accused of stealing from the southeastern Oklahoma military institution a training missile, spotlights, tablets and other electronics, spools of cable, and other miscellaneous tools and equipment between July 2024 and September 2024.

The items were found inside Seay’s residence during a July 2024 search warrant conducted by the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Krebs and McAlester Police Departments.

Court records show Seay intends to plead guilty to all three charges after a negotiated plea deal was made with federal prosecutors.

A change of plea hearing for Seay is scheduled for April 22 at the federal courthouse in Muskogee.
