A Stigler man was arrested this week after a traffic stop led to a police chase through Longtown.
Linley Bidwell, 49, is charged with endangering others while attempting to elude a police officer.
According to an affidavit, an officer noticed that Bidwell’s windshield was severely damaged and that he failed to signal before making a turn, prompting the attempted traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, Bidwell accelerated and drove through multiple intersections before abandoning the vehicle near Beaver Drive.
Officers later caught and arrested Bidwell on foot. He told officers he fled because he had outstanding warrants and did not want to return to prison, according to the affidavit.
Police also reportedly found marijuana inside the center console of the vehicle. Bidwell was given a $150,000 bond due to the outstanding warrants and the new charge. He is currently being held over at the Pittsburg County Jail, and his next court date is set for March 8th.
