The city of McAlester has announced the grand opening of a new splash pad at Mullen Park, located at A Street and Springer Avenue. The splash pad operates daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is free for the public.
Designed with families in mind, the splash pad is considerably larger than the 900-square-foot wet area at Hunter Park. It features nine above-ground structures, 16 ground sprays, and 11 interactive elements divided into three zones: a toddler area, a family area, and an adventure area with water cannons.
The pad features a bucket design and follows a nature theme that complements the new playground installed earlier this spring.
City officials invite residents to enjoy the splash pad and other Mullen Park amenities throughout the summer.
