ODWC Fishing Report: May 14, 2025

Here is the latest fishing report for Southeast Oklahoma lakes and rivers from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. Each lake report is curated by a local game warden, biologist, or fishery technician.

ArbuckleMay 11. Elevation is 6 ft. above normal (stable), water temperature 67°F and stained. Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass fair on Alabama rig, bill baits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, flats. Blue and channel good on cut bait, punch bait around creek channels, shallows. Black and white crappie fair on minnows, tube jigs around brush structure. Blue River: May 12. Elevation is 0.5 ft. above normal (falling), water temperature 73°F and stained. Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass fair on buzz baits, crankbaits, lipless baits, spinnerbaits, topwater lures, tube jigs around brush structure, channels, rocks, shallows, shorelines. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, punch bait, stinkbait, worms around brush structure, channels, rocks. Report submitted by Ethan Lovelace.

 

Broken BowMay 10. Elevation is 3 ft. above normal falling, water temperature 70°F and clear. Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass good on Alabama rig, bill baits, buzz baits, crankbaits, flukes, in-line spinnerbaits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, channels, flats, main lake, points, river mouth, shallows, shorelines, standing timber. Black and white crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows around brush structure, flats, points, river channel, shallows, shorelines, standing timber.

Blue and Channel catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, punch bait, worms around channels, coves, points, river channel, river mouth.

EufaulaMay 9. Elevation is 11 ft. above normal rising, water temperature 65°F and murky. White bass fair on grasshoppers, hair jigs, jigs, spinnerbaits, spoons around below the dam, creek channels, discharge, main lake. Black and white crappie slow on hair jigs, jigs, live shad, minnows, shad around below the dam, discharge, main lake. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish fair on chicken liver, cut bait, live bait, minnows, PowerBait, shad, stinkbait around below the dam, discharge, main lake, spillway. HugoMay 9. Elevation is 8 ft. above normal rising, water temperature 66°F and stained. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, live bait, live shad, shad around below the dam, coves, discharge, spillway. Black and white crappie slow on jigs, minnows around brush structure, points, standing timber. Largemouth, spotted, and white bass slow on crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around coves, flats, points, shorelines. KonawaMay 11. Elevation is Normal (stable), water temperature 65°F and clear.

Largemouth bass good on crankbaits, plastic baits around main lake, points, weed beds. Striped hybrid bass, white bass good on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, live shad around discharge, inlet, main lake, river channel. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver, cut bait, shrimp around coves, inlet, riprap, rocks, weed beds.

Lower Mountain Fork RiverMay 8. Elevation is Normal stable, water temperature 59°F and clear. Rainbow trout good on crickets, hair jigs, midges, PowerBait, worms around creek channels, dam, spillway. Report submitted by Mark Hannah Game Warden stationed in McCurtain County.

 

McGee CreekMay 9. Elevation is 3 ft. above normal rising, water temperature 65°F and stained. Largemouth and spotted bass good on bill baits, buzz baits, crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits, jerk baits, jigs, minnows, plastic baits, other around brush structure, docks, rocks, shallows, shorelines, standing timber. Channel and flathead catfish good on cut bait, minnows, shad, shrimp, sunfish, worms around below the dam, channels, docks, main lake, points, riprap. Report submitted by Shay Loudermilk, Game Warden stationed in Atoka County.

 

Murray: May 11. Elevation is 10 ft. above normal (stable), water temperature 68°F and stained. Largemouth and smallmouth bass; Blue, channel, and flathead catfish; black and white crappie; green, bluegill, and redear sunfish on crawfish, crickets, grasshoppers, in-line spinnerbaits, jigs, minnows, small lures, spinnerbaits, spoons, stinkbait, worms around channels, dam, docks, main lake, sandbar, shallows, shorelines, weed beds. Comments: Been slow with the rising water, but should pick up soon and be good with the stable weather in the future. Report submitted by R. Gillham, Game Warden stationed in Love County.

 

Pine CreekMay 8. Elevation is 6 ft. above normal rising, water temperature 69°F and clear. Largemouth bass good on crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits around flats, shallows. Black crappie good on jigs, minnows, spinnerbaits around flats, shallows. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, punch bait, worms around flats. Robert S. KerrMay 10. Elevation is Normal stable, water temperature 68°F and murky. Largemouth and spotted bass good on bill baits, live bait, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, points, riprap, shallows, shorelines, weed beds.

White crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows around brush structure, creek channels, flats, inlet. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, hot dogs, live bait, live shad, shad, shrimp, stinkbait, worms around channels, creek channels, flats, inlet, river channel. SardisMay 9. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal falling, water temperature 70°F and stained. Largemouth bass good on bill baits, crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, points, shorelines, standing timber.

Blue. Channel, and flathead catfish good on cut bait, shad, sunfish, worms around brush structure, channels, main lake, points, standing timber. TexomaMay 10. Elevation is 19 ft. above normal rising, water temperature 64°F and stained. Striped bass slow on live shad around channels, main lake, points. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish good on dough bait, live shad, PowerBait around channels, coves, main lake, river mouth. Black and white crappie fair on caddis flies, hair jigs, jigs, minnows around brush structure, points. Comments: Fishing this week has been slow. Striper are tough with the muddy water and flooded water level. Fish are still biting, quality is just down with the muddy water. Catfish are good near mouth if the river and little channels of creeks with flowing water. WisterMay 9. Elevation is 6 ft. above normal falling, water temperature 76°F and murky. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits, spinnerbaits around brush structure, creek channels. Blue catfish good on cut bait, shad around main lake.
