Hartshorne Man Arrested After Domestic Dispute Involving Truck

A Hartshorne man was arrested last Friday afternoon, May 23rd, after allegedly attempting to hit a woman with his truck during a domestic dispute, according to police.

Officer Joshua Greenfield of the Haileyville Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance at approximately 2:15 p.m. on May 23 at a residence in Hartshorne. Upon arrival, he observed a man and a woman arguing at the end of a driveway, with the man holding the woman by her shoulders.

According to an affidavit, the victim told police that Darrell Pace had tried to hit her with his pickup truck while it was attached to a flatbed trailer. She said she avoided being struck by pulling herself onto the truck bed and yelled for bystanders to call police. The victim also alleged that Pace had been drinking and was driving with a suspended license.

Pace told Officer Greenfield that the two had been arguing throughout the day and that he had attempted to leave to do work at a friend’s house. According to his account, the victim jumped onto his truck and began striking it and yelling for help. He admitted to forcibly removing her from the vehicle after arriving at the residence of a man identified as Tim James.

Greenfield reported observing bruises in the shape of fingers on the victim’s arms and shoulders. She declined to press charges or complete a witness statement or lethality assessment form.

Pace was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Pittsburg County Detention Facility on suspicion of domestic battery. He was given a $50,000 bond and is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse assault and battery.

This is Pace’s second separate criminal charge this year, and his third overall since December of 2024.
