A Hartshorne man was charged this week with felony robbery in the second degree and two misdemeanors following an alleged violent incident involving another party, according to court documents filed this week.
Larry Monroe Day, 49, is accused of robbing and assaulting the victim on June 2, allegedly grabbing her by the neck, throwing her to the ground, and punching her before allegedly stealing her phone.
Day faces three criminal counts: second-degree robbery, domestic assault and battery, and threatening to perform an act of violence.
According to the affidavit, the robbery occurred when Day forcibly took a phone from the victim, who told investigators she did not give consent and was physically attacked during the altercation. During the same incident, Day allegedly threatened to kill the victim.
Day is being held on a $300,000 bond, and his next court date is June 12th. Day is also a sex offender who was arrested in 2022 for a firearm charge, which revoked a suspended two-year sentence he received in 2021 after not registering as a sex offender.
Day received another suspended sentence in November 2023, that is now being revoked with his new charges.
