Repeat Offender Charged in Pittsburg County for Failing to Register as Sex Offender

A Longtown man with multiple prior convictions for failing to register as a sex offender has been charged again. Sammy Monroe Ebarb Jr., 40, was charged with a felony count of failure to register as a sex offender after allegedly residing in Pittsburg County for more than three days without notifying law enforcement.

Ebarb, who was convicted of first-degree rape in Latimer County in 2003, is required under Oklahoma law to register his address with local authorities. It is alleged that he failed to do so as of June 5.

Court records show Ebarb has at least three prior felony convictions for similar offenses. In 2016, he was sentenced to two years in Pittsburg County for failure to register.

According to reports, in 2018, he received a one-year sentence with six months suspended, and an additional one-year sentence for failing to comply with GPS monitoring.

In 2019, he was sentenced to a seven-year suspended sentence in Latimer County for failing to register.

He is currently being held on a $75,000 bond, according to court records
