Crews are making progress on the full reconstruction of Fourteenth Street between Delaware Avenue and Kiowa Avenue.
This infrastructure project was launched to address stormwater damage that compromised the roadway’s base and surface. Runoff from the adjacent hillside had eroded the foundation, forcing water between concrete and asphalt layers and causing severe upheaval.
The street remains open to local traffic only within the affected block. All through traffic should continue using the designated detour via Delaware Avenue, Thirteenth Street, and Comanche Avenue.
This is a full street rebuild and not a simple repair, so timelines may vary depending on weather, subgrade conditions, and any unforeseen issues.
