The McAlester City Council will consider more than $650,000 in airport-related payments during a special meeting set for 5 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
The council is scheduled to meet at 28 E. Washington Ave. to review claims and take up two agenda items tied to ongoing improvements at McAlester Regional Airport.
Council members are expected to consider approving two pay applications from Screed Tech LLC totaling $531,721.16 for work completed on the taxiway rehabilitation and airport lighting project. The payments include $135,535.54 for the first partial payment and $396,185.62 for the second, according to the agenda packet.
The project includes rehabilitation of taxiway pavement and lighting systems, replacement of the electrical vault, and upgrades to runway visual aids.
The council will also consider approving $122,152.64 in task orders from engineering firm HW Lochner Inc. for professional services related to the same airport project.
In addition, councilors will review and potentially approve claims dated March 2.
Following the regular session, the council will recess and convene as the McAlester Airport Authority to confirm action taken on the airport-related items before reconvening the city council meeting and adjourning.
The special meeting begins at 5 p.m. at McAlester City Hall and is open to the public.
