Mike's Club Working To Make A Difference In McAlester Community

Mike’s Club in McAlester is working to make a difference in the community, offering support and opportunities to those it serves. Owner and founder Mike Brown joined McAlester Radio on Monday to talk about his business and what it offers.

Mike’s Club is about more than just being a business — it’s about creating a sense of belonging. Through its work, the organization provides support and builds opportunities that can make a difference in everyday life across the community. Brown explains what Mike’s Club is and what it does.

Brown cited his military background and experiences overseas as a reason for opening Mike’s Club. He said the issues he witnessed during his service played a major role in his decision to start the business.

Brown said there has been some confusion in the past regarding the name of the business and the use of the word “club.” He emphasized there is no membership required to access resources or shop at the store.

As the interview continued, Brown shared stories about community members who have come in seeking help and guidance. He said the ability to assist with programs and connect people with resources is what makes the work worthwhile.
