A McAlester man is facing a felony child abuse charge after authorities say the victim reported ongoing abuse to investigators.
Riley Ernest Tucker, 67, has been charged in Pittsburg County District Court with child abuse, according to court records.
According to an affidavit, the investigation began in November 2025 when a juvenile, accompanied by another party, reported the alleged abuse to the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say the report included visible marks on the child’s body.
Authorities say the child reported the abuse had been happening over a period of time. A forensic interview was later conducted where the victim described multiple incidents involving physical discipline that allegedly caused injuries.
According to investigators, the victim reported being struck with a belt, hangers and a broom stick and, in one instance, grabbed by the face.
The child also described being made to clean up animal waste and living in conditions involving rats in the home.
The affidavit states the child told investigators they did not feel safe and wanted to live elsewhere. Tucker denied abusing the child, telling investigators he had only disciplined the child in the past.
Tucker was arrested Wednesday afternoon and is currently being held on a $150,000 bond.
