A McAlester woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she was driving under the influence early Monday morning in Savanna.
Ashley Nicole Anderson, 36, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. March 24 on U.S. Highway 69 near Taft Street.
According to an affidavit, an officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound and weaving off the roadway, at one point striking a curb and a stop sign.
Investigators say Anderson showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, unsteady movements and confusion. According to the report, she admitted to drinking vodka earlier in the morning. Officers also reported a strong odor of alcohol and said she refused to complete field sobriety testing.
Authorities say a half-empty bottle of vodka was found inside the vehicle.
Anderson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and transporting an open container. She was booked into the Pittsburg County Jail.
Records also indicate a prior 2019 case involving drug trafficking and a suspended license, and court filings show a new motion to revoke a suspended sentence has now been filed in that case following the recent DUI arrest.
Court records show Anderson is currently facing a separate 2025 case in Pittsburg County involving charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.
Anderson is being held on a cumulative bond of $20,000 and all cases are set for April 2nd.
