A McAlester man is facing an additional drug charge after authorities say he was found in possession of methamphetamine while being taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant.
James Anthony Giacomo, 69, was arrested March 26 near South A Street and Carl Albert Parkway in McAlester.
According to an affidavit, a Pittsburg County deputy located Giacomo sitting near the intersection and confirmed he had an active felony warrant out of Pittsburg County for assault with a dangerous weapon.
Authorities say Giacomo told the deputy he had knives on him, which were removed before he was taken into custody.
During a search, investigators say a container in his pocket held a white, crystal-like substance and a marijuana cigarette. The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Giacomo was booked into the Pittsburg County Jail on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and the outstanding warrant, and is currently being held on a $25,500 bond.
