A Tulsa woman is facing a felony charge after authorities say she assaulted a medical worker at a McAlester hospital.
Brandi Kay Ragsdale, 37, has been charged in Pittsburg County District Court with assault and battery on a medical care provider.
According to an affidavit, officers were called April 3 to the McAlester Regional Emergency Room regarding a patient who was fighting staff and refusing to leave her room.
Investigators say Ragsdale had come to the emergency room seeking help getting into a rehabilitation program but allegedly became upset after being told she would need transportation to another facility.
Authorities say Ragsdale began causing a disturbance and had to be restrained by hospital staff. During the incident, she allegedly bit a nurse.
The affidavit states Ragsdale continued to act aggressively, at one point kicking her feet into the air while restrained and later threatening staff.
Investigators say Ragsdale also threatened the nurse during the incident. She is currently being held over on a $10,000 bond.
