A McAlester man is facing felony charges after authorities say he violated a protective order by sending text messages in violation of court orders.
Brian Michael Anderson, 37, has been charged in Pittsburg County District Court with two counts of violation of a protective order. These are his second and third protective order violations in the last 12 months.
According to court documents, the charges stem from incidents in February 2026 involving messages sent in violation of a final protective order issued in Pittsburg County.
An affidavit states that on Feb. 18, an officer spoke with a woman who reported that Anderson had sent several text messages to her child. The woman provided screenshots of the messages and told police there was an active protective order prohibiting contact.
Investigators reported the messages included instructions to download an app and log into an email account, along with statements about money and instructions not to tell anyone. The affidavit states the woman told officers Anderson uses an application that allows messages to be sent using changing phone numbers.
The affidavit states a protective order was confirmed to be active at the time.
Court filings allege additional messages were sent on a separate date in February to individuals listed as protected parties under the order.
Records show Anderson previously entered a no contest plea in April 2025 to a misdemeanor charge of violating a protective order in Pittsburg County and received a one-year deferred sentence. Court filings indicate an application to accelerate that deferred sentence has since been filed.
Court records show Anderson’s bond is set at $32,000.
