A Texas man was arrested earlier this week on the charges of endangering others while eluding, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Ismael Anciso was seen in Pittsburg County Court on Monday this week on these same charges. According to an affidavit, around 3:00 AM, Officer Justin Kennedy of the Lighthorse observed an orange Dodge Charger driving north on HWY 69, just north of Boggy Bridge in Atoka County, in the outer lane.
After running the license plate, it was found linked to a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. He then activated his lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. However, Anciso continued at speeds of about 120 mph. By approximately 3:20 AM, the vehicle entered Pittsburg County, where other officers joined the pursuit.
At around 3:25 AM, Anciso entered the city limits of McAlester, still exceeding 110 mph. McAlester PD successfully deployed spike strips at the HWY 69 and HWY 270 overpass, and again at HWY 69 and Electric Ave. About half a mile south of the Business 69 ramp, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, lost control, and crashed, rolling over before coming to rest on its roof at the bottom of an embankment.
Anciso is currently being held on a $25,000 bond and his next court date is set for October 3rd.
