A McAlester man was seen in Pittsburg County court this past week on the charges of feloniously pointing a firearm and threaten to perform an act of violence. Freddy Stephens was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd after a protective order was filed against him.
According to an affidavit, the protective order was filed against Stephens for allegedly showing up at the victim’s house two days earlier looking for his “mini cow.” The victim told police that Stephens became accusatory after she said they did not have the mini cow and told Stephens to build a fence so the cow would stay home.
Stephens is alleged of yelling and cursing at the victim after that statement which caused the victim to grab her shotgun for protection. Stephens had a silver pistol on him that he allegedly pointed at the victim. Stephens is also alleged of coming back home the very next day and threatening to kill the victim’s husband.
Stephens was arrested the next day, and his weapons were confiscated due to the protective order filed against him. Stephens is currently being held on a $20,000 bond and his next court date is set for Thursday, Oct. 31st.
