A Pittsburg County man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend just hours after she filed a protective order against him. Adam Berman, 43, is being charged with attempted kidnapping, domestic abuse/assault and battery, and preventing or interrupting an emergency telephone call.
Deputies say Berman confronted the victim at her Longtown home, dragged her toward the house, and took her phone to stop her from calling for help. The victim had visible injuries, including a shoulder abrasion and bruising.
Authorities say Berman had been informed of the protective order earlier that day. Berman fled to Missouri following the incident but was later located and taken into custody.
Berman was given a $10,000 bond and his next court date is set for May 15th.
